Sreekrishna Pasumarthy is an accomplished Carnatic vocalist and flautist celebrated for his versatility, artistic expression, and ability to bridge classical traditions with contemporary musical influences. Over the past two decades, he has collaborated with renowned musicians and performed at prestigious cultural festivals and venues across India and North America, including the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, TANA, SAMPADA, and SAPNA. His artistry as both a vocalist and flautist has enriched numerous concerts, dance productions, and arangetrams, accompanying acclaimed dancers and performers with distinction.
Known for embracing musical diversity, he has actively explored collaborations beyond the traditional Carnatic stage, including cross-cultural and jazz fusion performances that blend Indian classical music with global genres. His openness to innovation while preserving the integrity of classical traditions has enabled him to connect with audiences from varied musical backgrounds and cultures.
Deeply committed to fostering cultural exchange through the arts, He has collaborated with organizations and events such as India Fest, Arts Without Borders, NEOTA, Cleveland Asian Festival, AIPNO, SEWA, and FICA. Through these initiatives, he continues to champion music as a unifying force that transcends cultural and artistic boundaries.
Rooted in the revered Sripada Pinakapani bani vocal style of music, Sreekrishna received advanced vocal training from the distinguished Malladi Brothers and refined his flute artistry under the guidance of J. A. Jayant. He also acknowledges the invaluable inspiration and guidance received from several respected gurus and senior musicians within the Carnatic tradition who contributed to shaping his musical journey.
A passionate advocate for the growth of Carnatic music in Northeast Ohio, Sreekrishna was a founding member of Sapthaswara Music Academy in 2016. Through the academy, he has mentored aspiring musicians both in person and virtually across several states, with many of his students progressing to perform full-length arangetrams and public concerts — reflecting his dedication to nurturing the next generation of artists.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Sreekrishna has built a distinguished professional career in technology and healthcare leadership. He earned both his MBA and Master’s degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University and brings more than twenty years of experience in information technology and healthcare systems, currently serving in a leadership role within a healthcare organization in Cleveland, Ohio.
