Sreekrishna Pasumarthy is a versatile Carnatic vocalist and flautist known for his expressive artistry, cross-cultural collaborations, and dedication to promoting Indian classical music across North America. Over the past two decades, he has collaborated with renowned musicians and performed at prestigious festivals and venues in India and North America, including the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, TANA, SAMPADA, and SAPNA. Embracing diversity in music, he has also participated in jazz and cross-genre collaborations that blend Carnatic traditions with global musical influences.
Sreekrishna has performed extensively as both a vocalist and flautist in concerts, arangetrams, and dance productions. He has contributed to acclaimed productions such as “Lakshmi Prabhavam,” “Nowka Charitham,” “Bhamakalapam,” “Godha Kalyanam,” and “Chandalika,” collaborating with distinguished Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi artists.
Committed to cultural outreach through the arts, he has actively participated in events including India Fest, Arts Without Borders, NEOTA Annamacharya Aradhana, Cleveland Asian Festival, AIPNO, SEWA, and FICA, helping foster cultural appreciation and artistic collaboration across communities.
Trained in the Sripada Pinakapani bani, Sreekrishna received advanced vocal training from the esteemed Malladi Brothers and refined his flute artistry under the mentorship of J. A. Jayant, along with guidance from several respected gurus in the Carnatic tradition.
As a founding member of Sapthaswara Music Academy, established in 2016, he has played a key role in promoting Carnatic music education in Northeast Ohio and through virtual learning across multiple states. Several of his students have gone on to perform arangetrams and public concerts, reflecting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Professionally, Sreekrishna holds both an MBA and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Cleveland State University. With over twenty years of experience in information technology, he currently serves in a leadership role within a healthcare organization in Cleveland, Ohio.
